Cd Ganesh Del Vescovo guitar music

This recording is totally dedicated to Ganesh Del Vescovo, one of the most interesting guitarist-composers of the new generation. In this recording Del Vescovo is composer as well as performer and the main characteristic of his works is the lively imagination in the use of the instrument which, in fact, is what gives life to all his artistic production. The most impressive compositional aspect is really the use of unusual performing techniques that are mostly created by the musician himself. These techniques are used as a creative invention which, with intense feeling, has its deep roots mainly in the musical culture of the Orient, especially in India. The final result is a musical language which expresses a feeling of suspension between past and present; it is very solid but, at the same time, is full of brilliance and variations, with the capacity to capture the listener‘s attention right from the very first notes. All this is well represented in the compositions in this recording (Sandhya, Dhyana, Jasidhih Espress and Three Dhuns, the latter for flute and guitar). A few of these were conceived for teaching reasons as well, (Tre studi giovanili, Tre studi). The recording is really very interesting and well made from the point of view of the performance as well! Congratulations!    (Piero Viti)
